This course introduces students to the principles and practices of argumentation in professional communication. It focuses on developing students’ ability to construct, analyze, evaluate, and communicate effective arguments in a variety of professional contexts.

Students explore the structure of arguments, types of reasoning, evidence, persuasion, critical thinking, logical fallacies, counterarguments, and refutation.

The course also examines the application of argumentation skills in professional writing, presentations, meetings, negotiations, and conflict-resolution situations. Particular attention is given to audience awareness, ethical persuasion, professional tone, and effective communication across different cultural and professional contexts.

Through theoretical discussions, case studies, writing activities, presentations, debates, and role-playing exercises, students develop the analytical and communicative skills necessary to make well-supported, clear, and persuasive arguments in professional environments.
